Important Iran Info:What Washington Warmongers Won't Admit To Americans
Thanks to today's terrible storms here in the UK (as well as much of Northern Europe), we've too many tedious real life tasks to tackle tonight to sit and write much.
But we want those who should see this, to do so.
Washington 'snubbed Iran offer'
Iran offered the US a package of concessions in 2003, but it was rejected, a senior former US official has told the BBC's Newsnight programme.
(snip)
One of the then Secretary of State Colin Powell's top aides told the BBC the state department was keen on the plan - but was over-ruled.
"We thought it was a very propitious moment to do that," Lawrence Wilkerson told Newsnight.
"But as soon as it got to the White House, and as soon as it got to the Vice-President's office, the old mantra of 'We don't talk to evil'... reasserted itself."

I thought everyone already knew Cheney was the real man in charge, and that he and his neocon pals WANTED wars -- whatever.
The fact that we had an opportunity to settle (some)of our difference with Iran more than 3 years ago really burns my ass!
Dick Cheney, the warmongering, goddamn chickenhawk, who ran and hid like a baby when it was his turn to serve, didn't want peace when he knew someone else's kid may die because of it.
Where's Lee Harvey?
Saddam can't ever tell any tales now and I bet there's a hell of a lot we don't know about what's been said about Syria - and Lebanon too.
I't not about Iran and nukes - it's not about anything other than they wan't complete control of the region. Iran for it's oil - Syria and Lebanon 'cos they've still got the missing little pieces of Med coastline needed for the neocon's TOTAL dominance of the entire ME region.
Agreed Stram. Iran, to this day wants to talk - the "decider" decided it was a bad idea.
Lee Harvey? I'd settle for any idiot in the grassy knoll at this point. ;)
ps: Brit, I blog rolled you, I hope that's okay.
What government tells yer ... believe the opposite ... yer'll be right most times
I'm with Stu. Sad but true
Richard, I have seen this news. Well I suppose the US knew what it was doing, pushing Iran moderates out, like they did in Palestine, and facilitating the election of a radical...This is how they start building their case up to the war...
