Yes it is ominous, since these are prized capital ships of the Royal Navy and they probably come with their own small flotilla of supply and support vessels.
These usualy not moved around without some careful thoughts given to their deployment.
But we shouldn't worry unnecessarly, but rather we should enjoy our peaceful summer, as long as we can. The follie of man is so powerful, you better not to be on their way. It's just rolls over you.
We are too small players, to effect things one way or another.

I'm just surprised the ships weren't already on manouvers in the Mediteranean. Maybe the Israelis stepped up the timing. Maybe the capture of the two Israeli soldiers was an opportunity too good to miss. It would fir with their thinking that htey are the real leaders of the Coalition of the Corrupt.

They've got to keep this war thing rolling quickly so as to keep everybody off balance. Pretty soon, though, someone is going to realise that the Israelis have already lit the petrol that's under everyone's feet and start pressing little red buttons of their own. And my guess is that there will be NO warning.

Now I've learned that the US navy just happen to be conducting exercises with the Jordanian navy. Give you one guess where?
Yep, that's right. Off the coast of Lebanon.
So, how's this for a possible scenario?
One of "our" ships [UK/US/Jordan] will be "attacked". The immediate cry will go up "It was Syria wot dun it, guv."
You know the rest already.
Btw, I've also heard that Israeli has sunk an Egyptian ship.

It's amazing how things look different when you stop listening to what they saw and concentrate on what they are doing. Hence the paramount importance of propaganda to them and conversely the imperative importance of truth to us.
It seems that Stealth bombers like to operate when there is no moon. Next New Moon is about a week and a half away which would about right for a rapid escalation of the war.
I hope I'm wrong and I hope God has something up his sleeve.
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a Reverse Rapture whereby all these shitbags were suddenly sucked down drainholes and crevices in the ground. Imagine Shrub on the dunny and all that is heard is a short shriek followed by a loud popping noise.
I couldn't agree with you more 'Griffon,' in everything you wrote, but particularly with your fantasy, that the ground would open under the war mongers, war profiteers and other similar scums of the Earth (who send somebody else's son or daughter in harms way) and just swallow them, in one giant gulp. Thanks for placing that enjoyable picture in my mind. (Anyway, men's fantasy is quite similar in almost every other way, although now I digress.)
But barring that, why not have another huge, anti-war rally, but this one would also concentrate on Israel, not just the usual villains of the plot?
I know, it won't solve a thing and it's too hot out there and a million other excuses. At least though, it would put to lie, their meaningless propaganda, that the public is with them.
