President Putin - Much More Than That 'Boy Kiss' on BBC Web-Cast ...
We hear there's a hint of a bit of a hullabaloo blowing up among some of our American cousins across the Atlantic.
And apparently it's all about a certain senior Soviet statesman showing some affection, towards a small fellow citizen.
So, as dependable, reliable, eager to please, etc, as This Old Brit & Richard ever were and still are ....... da, da, da, dah ......
Right here & now the pair of us proudly present for your personal perusal & pleasure, Russian President Vladimir Putin's first ever, live Web-cast via the BBC.
When you watch and listen to this ground-breaking broadcast, you'll hear him answer lots & lots of questions, all plainly put to him by a varied bunch of Brits -- including a query on kissing the kid.
So what are we waiting for?
Let's get this show on the road.
Please pass the popcorn.
Then let's all look, listen and learn.
And to pile on the agony just that last, little bit longer --- lets roll!

Not to change the subject, but this is really disturbing:

...really disturbing.
Anyway, I thought you and your readers might find it interesting in the context of some of your recent posts about the occupation of Iraq.
St!ff mittens:
Funny that NYT piece should mention McVeigh.
A Coulterism:
"My only regret with [Oklahoma City bomber] Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building,"
Thanks for that: a disturbing but not altogether surprising piece
Richard:
Putin isn't perfect but he can give some counterfire to "our cousins", something that here in "Little Amewikah" is harder to do...
Thanks for that, stiff.
You can say that again - it IS disturbing - but certainly not surprising - well not to some of us.
I posted [somewhere on the blog] quite a whie back that "thugs are thugs, even if in uniforms".
One of our other regulars here, Mark from Ireland [who I'm sure you know by now] also runs Gorrila's Guides and he's just put up a good post about this. Also, he warned in advance of such scenarios.
As for this Putin piece - phew! Ain't exactly proved to be popular, has it?
So far, I'm simply totaly underwhelmed with the response.
Ah well, back to the bloody drawing board.
Aarggh.
Gert, you just know my keyboard finger just slipped and that I was not - not acknowledging you.
I'll be back over at you place a little later -- if that bloody olah/oleh/whoever has left any bloomin' room for anyone else. ;^)
Richard:
Olah chose to respond to my post with her latest "piece" rather than comment over at mine. You get a mention too (LOL), you bloody Guardian lover, you... you dastardly jumped up son of a gun!
Trying to debate with Olah is like trying to fit wheels to a tomato: time-consuming and utterly useless.
Really, we should leave those poor Israelis alone in their struggle against the demonic "Pseudostinians". That way they (Olah and Oleh) can realise their dream of Eretz Israel and beyond...
Far right American Jews in Israel, they must be about the most intransigent of all people. If Israel's long term security falls through though, and it ends up without a friend in the world, they'll blame Europe for not being biased towards them enough.
4 million people in refugee camps and no one gives a hoot. 1 captured Israeli soldier and they want to redraw the map of the Middle East.
Yours, "anti-Semitic" as ever.
Sigh...
Anyway, keep going, my man.

Gert,
On priciple, up till now, I'd never given his place a single 'hit'.
But I soon found out I'd guessed right. He's still a school kid - well, to me, even Uni's still some sort of senior, senior school. Ha. I'm old enough to be his bloomin' grandad. Glad I'm not though, and you can be sure that so is he.
Anyhow, I looked at his full profile -- he's only been 'an Israeli' for about a bloody year. Ha! Can you credit it?
And amongst his interests? Serial killers and rapists. Strewth! Just about says it all really, eh?
Anyway, as for reading his 'stuff' - I got as far as the second paragraph but by then had already had enough.
Oi vey - to coin a phrase.
Still, we should look on the bright side I suppose. What with school time, home study time, and his online blogging & ranting-elsewhere-time, it all helps keep him off the streets. And thank Gawd for that -- they're already dangerous enough.
anon,
Kiss your own lazy arse.

That's right, baby! I'm the abcess beneath the rotten tooth.
;-}
PS - Your barbs might be a little sharper if you spelled properly.
...and I have egg on my face. That should have been 'abscess'.
Richard:
They're not all that dangerous, they do live a parallel universe, after all. One where everything is in absolute values, written in stone...
Thanks.
