A Bit Of Brit Royal Bitchin' ...

Crumbs! Could you credit it? The Crown caught a cold today; quite possibly the full blown 'flu.

Princess Diana's mother thought Prince Charles was a "spoiled brat",

Well, according to Mr Mike Merrit, who describes himself as a friend of Frances Shand Kydd [ Princess Diana's mother ] she did. And Merritt, a journalist turned author, attributes his recent and remarkable Royal revelations to 'hundreds of conversations' he had with Mrs Shand Kydd during the final nine years of her life; she died in June last year.

It appears she opined in similar style, regarding many more members of the British Royal Family.

... the Queen Mother "quite a bitch" ...

Sheesh. Some strong stuff to be sure. And there's so much more.

Here's how she said she saw young Prince Harry - her own grandson.

.... Prince Harry "a rascal" ....

Then this, of his paternal uncle Prince Edward.

She said he depended on the Queen to "pay his way" in life.

Phew! So what - you may well wonder - of the House of Windsor as a whole?

Here's what.

Frances Shand Kydd described the Royal Family as "German dwarfs" and said the Queen's outfits looked like they came from the Red Cross.
Good golly, miss Molly. Ghoulish, gripes and grumblings - from far beyond the grave.

Dodi al Fayed's wannabe royal Egyptian dad, multi-millionaire Mohammed, didn't escape her evident disdain either.

According to the diary, Mrs Shand Kydd hated Mohammed al Fayed, Dodi's father. She learned to infuriate him by being silent.

Something else we're shown in today's article by Frank Hurley for the Mirror, is that Mrs Shand Kydd certainly wasn't too shy to swear, curse or cuss -- whether she was blasting the blue-bloods or addressing assassination accusations.

She was also, says the Mirror - ahem - devout. And she sought solace in the Catholic church and charity work.

Richard, I have to admit something: I enjoy royal gossip.

I will say that Diana's funeral was one of the saddest things I've ever seen - it really was Shakespearean.

German dwarfs - oh, man! Meeeeoooow.

As the ex husband (he used to play polo with Charles) pointed out to me. Diana was no innoscent, when they were dating she'd go to all the events he liked. She'd go shooting, fishing, to polo matches, etc, etc, but once they were married it stopped, what else stopped that we are not aware of. Not defending Charles, bu the image you see of a couple is not always the reality behind closed doors. Especially when you add the press and PR teams to it.

Personally, I'd never date anyone one of my friends let alone sisters was once involved with, too icky.

Sandra who hates gossip because it all comes down to why are you really spilling the beans and is it really true, only your perspective, or are you trying to get PR and make a £/$

Diana was as much a spoiled twit as any of the whole crowd. She played the public like a violin. YUK.

Mixed response, eh? Heh.

I honestly have to say that personally, I find it hard to even relate to - let alone take sides with - any of them.

They are all extremely privileged people - thanks to nothing more than accidents of birth. Any single one of them would have trouble fending for themselves in the "real" world, and experiencing the problems regular people encounter on a regular basis.

While I would never wish them any personal harm - I won't ever loose a wink of sleep over any of them or their personal 'problems' either.

I hope you are better today :)

Sandra

It was a bit of fluff to take my mind off of my state gov giving pardons to people not yet charged in an on going investigation of corruption, just like almost all of the states, Bush and his war of lies, the horrible things going on down in LA and MS, the flooding here locally, treason treason treason, poverty rate has risen, Dallas just passed a law making their school princapals to learn Spanish, the illegal problem (I've gone through immagration here with the Brit ex husband and we had to jump through hoops, I take great offense at the fact someone can do something illegal and have more rights than me a born in Philly US citizen) that is a drain on health care, schools and does effect wages, the local shootings, the economy and the American press of LIES, the government not listening to the majority of the citisens and to lobbyist and corps instead, DIEBOLD, ordinary mothers, soldiers, fathers, sons, and daughetrs being demonised for asking for the truth on Bush's war, etc, etc, etc,

OK I got that off my chest :) ta, it's nice to have a piece of fluff every now and than

Feeling lots better [with the tablets] thanks, Sandra.

You mentioned 'local' flooding. I hope you're ok. Are you close to New Orleans or somewhere else that's been hit hard?

I'm glad the tablets are working :)

No, I'm in Lou. KY right now, just minor power outages, yards and streets flooding, broken trees, etc.

I'm just pissed at my treasonous murderous government http://www.pnionline.com/dnblog/attytood/archives/002331.html for one of many reasons. And the countless lives destroyed here and the World for all the wrong reasons. They actually made me cry today, I hate it when people can do that to me. So it really was nice to come to a fluff piece about German dwarfs :)in a least likely place.

ta ,Sandra

Since we are talking about the Mirror vis-a-vis Mrs. Shand Kydd article. I know that August is 'silly season' and any tidbit about the Royals sells - however, I think the Mirror has done a 'piss-poor job' of entertaining us this August. Last year we had the sex scandal at the FA and the resulting ramifications and let's not forget David Beckham and his various conquests. Granted I don't get to see the entire paper -just the online version. I'm sorry but it's hardly news to anyone that HRH is 'spoiled' or the that the Queen Mum 'can be a bitch'. I'm looking for some really good stuff - hints of cross-dressing, vast sums of money changing hands for god knows what!
