Olmert's spokesman admits Israel, not Hamas, breached ceasefire

Throughout July, August, September, and October, there were only fifteen attacks, and Israel agrees that none of these rockets were fired by Hamas. On November the 4th, Israel launched an attack that killed six Hamas fighters just inside the Gaza strip... during the entire period of the ceasefire, no Israelis were killed by Hamas rockets.

Mark Regev, Prime Minister's spokesman: Success is freeing the populations of southern Israel form the fear of an incoming Hamas rocket.

Reporter: Well if that was the case, there were no Hamas rockets during the ceasefire. For four months, there were no Hamas rockets.

Regev: And that's correct.

Naturally, every mainstream American news outlet still claims that Hamas broke the ceasefire.

There are a few of us "left-brained" folks her in the good ole' U-S-of-A who recognize that Hamas isn't necessarily the terrorist organization that the Bush Administration has claimed it to be. It's going to be interesting to see how MY President, Barack Obama reacts, especially with Hillary in the house.

So, my point is really this: Whether Israel struck first, or if Hamas leaders are holed up inside civilian targets.. like hospitals or schools.. Some day, we are all going to have to answer as we sit idly by and allow war crimes to be perpetrated. At least I can say I'm proud of my President for recognizing the American-led torture at Gitmo and honoring the Genevia Convention by promising to put an end to it all his first week in office.

Anonymous: Hillary? I wouldn't be too sure: she's one of the staunchest pro-Israel Democrats around. When still polling for the presidential candidate nomination she scored high with Israel's centrist Ha'aretz newspaper because she favours an undivided (Israeli) Jerusalem.

And Obama has said very strong words of support for Israel to AIPAC... Only public pressure can make Obama really sit up and listen...
