Venezuela's President Chavez warmly welcomes Russia's President Medvedev - and the ruddy Russian Navy.
Venezuela's Chavez welcomes Russian warshipsSurprised?
LA GUAIRA, Venezuela – Russian warships sailed into port in Venezuela on Tuesday in a show of strength as Moscow seeks to counter U.S. influence in Latin America.
Russia's first such deployment in the Caribbean since the Cold War is
timed to coincide with President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Venezuela, the first ever by a Russian president.
You shouldn't be. (What's the betting Mr Biden isn't?)
Surely you've heard similar sorts of stories before.
You know, such as the old seafarers' old saying re: stranger things happening at sea.
Read a bit more about it right here.

How dare they!!!!!!!!!
Where's the US navy? And army? And Air Force?
Oh,,,sorry,,,,. I forgot.
I have always said, world is a chessboard and once a piece changes it's position, the game can look a whole lot different for both players. I am actually happy that there is some kind of a counter power developing against the US dominance in the world. After seeing what has gone on in the last 8 years, I realized one country holding all the cards can be extremely dangerous. Not to mention the arrogance... So it was about time the chessboard looked different... :)But I always worry about conflict between powers. We shall see what happens within the next decade?
I see this as more of an excercise in humuliation rather than the real spectre of a conflict. I also see a great escalation is such global shows of disdain for America, or at least, what America has become.
How things pan out over the next few years now depends on whether or not under Obama the "drunk with power" US can "sober up". And sober up soon.
I think you're going to find a lot more "rubbing their noses in it" in the immediate future.
I bet certain countries are right now forming a line to say "F*ck You!" to Bush and Co.
The ball is ALREADY in Obama's court I believe.
Hi there! It's the guy who ruined Liberal Avenger again.
I am pleased to inform you that the US Department of Defense has awarded me a comprehensive scholarship to study computer science and electrical engineering in return for service to the military.
And, to sweeten the deal, it so happens that I'll be working on military robots for Israel!!
It will be a tiny contribution indeed. But, while I can't quite say how fast these machines will get smart, they sure aren't getting dumber. How long?
Propitius esto
Libera nos, Domine
Ab omni malo
Libera nos, Domine
A morte perpetua
Libera nos, Domine
A furare robotorum
Libera nos, Domine
Machinae vincunt, machinae regnant, machinae imperant ... gloria a machina belli!
