Great minds, Old 'un! This was my weekend topic, also.
I would suggest your readers to look into my last post! It's very much related to your last article.... Thanks!
What happens to the US happens to the UK and to Israel. And no one can say our mob hasn't earned all it gets.
Hello Old Brit,
if your interested, I wrote a post about this topic on my website. The name of my website is civicallyengaged.net. I think it's the 5th or 6th link as you scroll down.
I address the idea of the US not being a superpower, so as to preserve quality of life in US society by coming to terms with reality.
One idea-not a new one, of course- that I express in that post is that the US ought to become more of a team player in terms of its foreign policy.
An additional idea is that if the US desperately tries to preserve its empire of sorts, we may do great damage to what we value about our nation.
One way of thinking of this is that the US ought to cut its losses by letting go of its empire so as to save itself as a nation; and that if we desperately try to defy the patterns of history, we may end up losing both our empire and our nation as we know it.
