I think the picture's perfect - as a vehicle to show the 'face' of 21st century BushAmerica - and all it stands for. Yep, an apt image.
The 'Ugly American' is alive and well.
Thanks for the hat tip Richard. From doing some searching it looks like that picture was taken at a reception in the Hungarian Embassy in Washington D.C.

Off topic to this but sadly very on topic to the devastation being done to the people of the Middle East is the Cholera situation in Irak.
For obvious reasons we're focusing on it and post updates as and when reliable data comes out. This is the latest:
"As of 27th of September 2007, 26 districts of Northern Iraq and 7 districts in the south and center have reported 2758 laboratory-confirmed cases of cholera.
* 13 out of the 14 districts of Sulaymaniyah governorate.
* All five districts of Kirkuk governorate
* All seven districts of Arbil governorate
* One district in Dahuk
* 3 districts in (Salah Ad Din) Tikrit
* One district in Ninawa (Mosul),
* One district in Baghdad
* One district in Basrah
* One district in Wasit
are now affected by this cholera outbreak. This represents an increase of 295 laboratory confirmed cases since the last situation report. 14 deaths have now been reported an increase of 3 since the last situation report."
To that we have to add the death of a five year old child in Hit (a city in Al Anbar)
It'll be some time before that shows up in the figures. I heard from dad (mfi) who is in Irak at present and he says that it's spreading and gathering pace. The next two months are when Cholera are most likely to spread throughout the country as temperatures are perfect for the organism to increase in the water.
It's still an outbreak and not an epidemic but things aren't looking good.

You really need to catch up with everyone else. Richard (and most of his readers) know all about the US cabal. Moreover, Richard has had his teeth into them from almost day one and has relentlessly informed and opined.
I have been actively opposing the warmongers BOTH sides of the Atlantic since BEFORE the Iraq invasion.
I happen to know that Richard has too. And I'm prepared to bet money that among other regulars here there are active anti-war, and active anti-bent politicians people.

One picture speaks better than thousand words. I would not be surprised to knw that this creature hates life and lively ations of any kind. She (or he?!) is not the problem. The problem is the power of media who magnifies the words of a ruling minority in a country and undermines the wills of a piece loving nation who have been fighting for democracy and their struggles have been shot down thtrought the history mostly by the British and US governments. Shame!

Sprockets was a recurring fictional West German television talk show skit created by actor, writer and comedian Mike Myers for the American sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. Myers played Dieter (based on a real person who Myers met in art college), a bored, disaffected West German expressionist and minimalist who would interview celebrities in whom he was barely interested and always bring the discussion around to his "limited" monkey Klaus. The sketch made fun of German art culture in the 1980s. Appearing asexual or effeminate, Myers' costume consisted of tight black leotards; round, wire-rimmed glasses, and slicked-back hair. There is a PDF version available in the Internet. Cagan is referred to as a "Troubleshooter". At one point she told Richard Holbrooke to "keep the hell out of the Vinca Project". The team was kept small.
