What a pity none-American's can't cast a vote against this crook.

Btw, I hope that poll isn't connected in any way with certain other crooks -- named Diebold.

Richard - have you seen this? interesting reading isn't it? Especially this bit, I've bolded the relevant sentences. I'd be very interested to hear what your "local" knowledge has to say:

"These bombings came at a time when Turkey is starting to prepare to send troops to Lebanon and the prospect of an operation against the PKK camps in northern Iraq is being discussed. It is also interesting that these bombings came just as the US decided to send a coordinator responsible for issues with the PKK.

Several questions come to mind. Powers in the PKK not willing to seek a democratic solution have more weight in the group. They are making finding a solution more difficult. The Times of London wrote that Kurdish groups who favor independence are against Turkey's EU membership. "

That bottom picture of Bush just about sums him up. I can't understand why so many US voters still haven't realsied this.

Griffon, thanks for that. Pilger's one of my favourites but I keep falling behind on what he's doing. Same with some others, sadly.

Mark, maybe I'll have more to say in a month's time.

For now, I've heard things like - usual nutters + xtra naieve students every August + extra outside shit-stirring/'help' & dosh' from ...... I wonder where, eh? Two guesses. And of course, the good old unrefuseable offers we mentioned at your place.

Like I said, ask me again in a month, as the (and my) tourist season winds up.
