Israel: Boycott Against Indiscriminate Bombing & Civilian Slaughter In Lebanon ...
*
All goods bearing barcodes beginning with
729
as shown above left, begin their lives in Israel.
So, If you're as sickened as most civilised people are by Israel's barbaric bombardment of innocent Lebanese civilians - be they men, women, children or babes - here's something positive you can do personally.
Though our politicians may pooh-pooh the people's calls for pressure to be brought to bear, to bring about an end to Israeli war crimes - pronto - there's another way we can make our point.
As the old adage says -- there's more than one way to skin a rabbit.
In fact, in this case there's a simple, painless, almost effortless, risk-free option open to everyone.
Boycott All Israeli Goods.
Whatever they be, let them rot or rust on the shelves.
Don't put one single cent more into the the barbarian bombers' economy.
Also, please pass this on via every method/route possible. Already, some of us [bloggers] are banding together to help kick-start this campaign.
So the sooner it gets off the ground the better, since the sooner Israeli bank balances start dropping -- the sooner Israeli bombs may stop dropping.
And, the more likely Israel may be, to think twice before ever doing the same again.
[Hat tip to Mark, for barcode heads up.]

Wholly sympathize with the aim. I am not sure that this barcode data is entirely correct, though:

Anon,
The link you give CONFIRMS that barcodes begining exactly as I've shown -- NEVER LIE.
Now, [rightly or wrongly] my suspicions as to you and your motives are raised. Having visited the site you cited, I'll now run a full system virus scan -- just in case.
What a pain in the proverbial ...
Richard, please let's know the scan result. I'll avoid that link till and if you give the all clear. I suggest others do too.
I guess you've heard of the new cyber-soldiers {an army of Israeli students} who've been drafted to freep-post at blogs\sites unsympathetic to Israel. Right?
Hi Richard,
Finally some action. I found the link on Mark's blog and it is already on top of my links !
I'm afraid the first commenter has a point. Here is another web site about barcodes in general (and thus not related to the proposed Israel boycott):
http://www.aureamedia.com/barcode_info.html
If you scroll down to the partial list of country codes, the text specifically makes the point that the barcode does not necessarily relate to the origin of the product bearing it.
The site linked to in the first comment also makes that point. However, I do question the agenda proposed there since none of the companies listed on their downloadable leaflet are actually Israeli companies. I have no great fondness for any of the companies that are listed (Coca-Cola, Disney, and McDonalds being among them), but I'd like more documented evidence indicating the support these companies supposedly provide to Israel before signing on to that cause.
A boycott is a good idea (any time the general populace has an opportunity to directly express their will seems like a good thing to me). But to be maximally effective the boycott should be clearly defined, so it might be prudent to get some more info and verify the target, so to speak.
Here's an idea: Go to this site:
http://www.israeliproducts.com/
The site provides a list of products originating in Israel and then encourages you to support Israel by supporting those products. So just do the opposite.
And there's always the most obvious way to recognise Israeli goods.
Look for:
Made\Manufactured in Israel.
Product\Produce of Israel
Etc, etc.
How about this too?
How about tourism?
Some resorts are popular with Europeans aren't they?
Heres the latest from Dahr Jamail.
Read it and weep-
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/073106A.shtml
I wonder what goes through the heads of all those thousands of workers in the ordinance factories in the US, especially the makers of cluster bombs, when they read of the effects of their handiwork?
I wonder if they have the stomach to look at the pictures?
And I will never buy that bullshit that it is the only job in town.
Get yourself another effin town, Bud.
I hope you are all sitting down because I have a shock.. no .. a SHOCK for you.
The israeli army is going to advance as far as the Litani river!!! Yes, I kid you not.
Hooda thunk it, eh.

Morning Roundup: Israel Decides to Widen Its Offensive, Possibly to the Litani River
Israel decided Tuesday to widen its ground offensive in Lebanon, possibly up to the Litani River, and resume air strikes with full force, as Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert declared there would be no ceasefire with Hizbullah.
"We will not give up on our goal to live a life free of terror," Olmert said.
I think ol' Ehud threw in that last comment to lighten the mood and give everyone a laugh.
It's drinking you way to sobriety. Or as we used to say in the Vietnam days , It's like f..... never mind.
Yep, everything is going according to scedule.
When the Litani river mentioned first as a well documented historical goal of the Zionists, which they have been salivating over for decades, didn't we have a troll who was blithely dismissing it, citing advantages of desalination plants over the natural source?
His b. s. (like always) was stinking to Heaven.
We didn't had to wait for long, to see the end of that lie, did we?
Richard,

OK, Richard?
Times will help me narrow/pinpoint it. Leave it with me. I'm leaving soon -- 'see' you later.
I'm sorry, but the article from Herald Sun (cited my jrum) allegdly showing Hezb. fighters involved in a war crime is just ludicrous. Apart from the fact that 2 of the pics are virtually the same and one is just of some guy looking into the distance holding a gun, there is no way of knowing whether the missile launcher which appears near a building is indeed close to a town with civilians in it, or just being moved to a new location, or again, just random people posing.
xxx, Ta!
redzebra, don't worry, we all know about jrum. So far, he's taken the piss out of, slagged others off by refering to their comments as drivel and outstayed his welcome at a peers/kindred spirit's site.
Also, I recently made it plain that I won't provide a platform for apologists for recent Israeli actions.
I usually leave similar comments up for just long enough for other readers to get 'their gist'. And right now, 'just long enough' is fast approaching. What jrum's doing here is akin to touting pork sausages in a Synagogue, but apparently that's still not registered.
Vignette Corp.
Richard, this is interesting. Look what I've also just stumbled across - a New York Times search for "Lord Stein" - which took them to your place - as well as other places of course - but you showed up very high on the search results.
See here.

jrum, please spare us your self-righteous crocodile tears of self-pity.
You have thousands of sites, where you can muddy the waters, with your convoluted dribbles, in addition to the corporate mass-media where -unlike you,- we are being completely shut-out.
This blogger-site is one of the remaining prescious few venue, where we can state our opinion freely, and we don't want to be drowned by tiresome tirades from persons like you.
The time is pressing and the discussion and any debate needs to be focused among those people, who otherwise agree on the broad outlines, what we are facing.
Cont. bellow
Cont. from above
jrum, let me solace your sensitive Soul with just the fraction of the travails and censureship I'm facing.
On the videopage titled: INNOCENT ISRAELI VICTIMS OF ISLAMIC TERRORISM (sorry all capitals in the original)
the following of my comment has been deleted by a You Tube poster:
"For every innocent Israeli victims, there are more than 10 innocent Palestinians, who loose their lives.
Shame on all the Zionists, who stole the land of the Palestinians and made them refugees in their own land."
My protesting remark about the poster's censorship has met the same fate:
"Zionist censorship at work. They have the full control of the mass-media, but even in the internet, they can not tolerate dissenting opinions. What a weak, hateful and insecure characters!
Are these the ones, who see themselves as Superior? Superior in what? Cruelty and inflicting pain in others?
See my point jrum?
I have to say that I don't actually understand why you're tolerating Jrum at all Richard. On my markfromireland site he started off with a flat out lie when another guest asked if he was the same person who was posting here under another name.
He used some half assed (and misconfigured) software, probably foxie, to try to obscure his IP addy.
He's engaged in casuistry and one ad hominem after another. And the latest I got from him was him squealing like a stuck pig laced with ad hominem comments about censorship because I refuse to allow a known liar make ad hominem attacks on my site.
He's tried to pretend that water resources aren't a major factor when Israeli sites such as debka were already admitting that the Israelis are seizing control of wells. (That they're grabbing what water they can should come as a surprise to nobody they've done it in every other one of their wars.)
You're a lot more tolerant than I am mate.
Back On Topic To be fair to your first anonymous commenter bar codes aren't an infallible way of telling where something is produced. But I've yet to see anything with 729 that isn't from Israel if there is a product starting with 729 from somewhere else .... shrug ... what's a little "collateral damage" between friends?
I must reinforce what mark said. jrum is not contributing to intelligent discourse. He is attempting to insert doubts where facts have already been established. He is attempting to distract/disrupt and lead the discussion away from the truth.
I think jrum's gottten the message now.
Rick,
Hope I'm not too late with this link; I had mislaid it:
http://www.inminds.co.uk/boycott-israel.html
All the best,
Another old Brit
I'm amazed that muslims the world over have not used boycotts, or economic sabotage, as weapons against oppression. Really, it is a no brainer.
I mean, who would want to buy that Israeli orange in the supermarket if there was a chance it had been spiked?
You all should certainly boycott this place.
