The United States ranks near the bottom for infant survival rates among modernized nations.For once, further words flaming well fail us.
A Save the Children report last year placed the United States ahead of only Latvia, and tied with Hungary, Malta, Poland and Slovakia.

Although I'm really saddened to read this, I'm not in the least surprised.
For a long time now, nothing that comes out of the US surprises me any more - and I DO mean NOTHING!
Not to worry too much - they've still got a great "bread and circus" record.
Oops, sorry. I meant to say "fast food and telly".

Much as I despise the present adminstration, I often wonder what all the previous adminstraions were doing to allow things to get to such an unpretty pass? What have the American population been doing not to rise up in protest long before now?
Know why we only ever hear about the "American" dream?
Easy. The rest of us are awake.
More like American Nightmare anyway.

You might have noticed that our various "pro life" agitators have been remarkably quiet about this finding. I can't say that I'm surprised.

Plenty of money for war, and plenty of money for weapons to wage aggressive war, but not enough money to fund a 'Child Healthcare' bill. Twilight said it; why haven't the American people risen up in protest before now? In fact, apropos the following article, why have the American people allowed the odious Bush and his cronies to stay in power for seven years?
