Unlike so many smart arses we know, whenever we chance upon anything we don't completely understand, we come straight out and say so.

So ... after sighting this science story today ... we're saying so.

Nevertheless, we're saying that we're already convinced it shall all end in tears.

Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. Maybe not even the day after tomorrow.

But sooner or later, it will end in tears.

Even in the absence of any completely catastrophic accidents, it will end in tears ... eventually.

The politicians and the military will see to that ... eventually.
