Bush Implies Iraq Ought To Imitate Israel ...

He suggested Israel, the frequent target of terrorist attacks and a country in a decades-long, intractable and often violent dispute with Palestinians, as a standard to strive for.

"In places like Israel, terrorists have taken innocent human life for years in suicide attacks," Bush said. "The difference is that Israel is a functioning democracy and it's not prevented from carrying out its responsibilities. And that's a good indicator of success that we're looking for in Iraq."

It was likely to be controversial — and possibly even explosive — for Bush to set out Israel as a model for a Muslim Middle Eastern nation.

Aside from Israel's security problems, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is such a sensitive issue in the Muslim world that it has become a rallying cry for many and major recruiting tool for Islamic extremist groups such as al-Qaida.

We ask again -- why? What the hell has Israel got to do with Iraqis?

Isn't the ignorant, arrogant arsehole aware Iraqis are Iraqis - not Israelis? Muslims - not Jews?

Moreover, hasn't he realised yet that so many successive Israeli governments have serially 'suffered' - needlessly - because of the same self inflicted short-sightedness as his own?

Of course the cretinous crook has.

But the truth is, he doesn't give a shit about shit. In spite of so often (and so insincerely) spouting the opposite.

And anyway, who the hell is Bush to decide in which direction Iraqis should proceed? In their own country. On their own sovereign soil.

Bush brags about having brought the Iraqi people their freedom - while simultaneously damned well dictating -- exactly as did the now deceased, reviled and despised despot, Saddam Hussein.

What do the Iraqi people want?

Never for a single moment the puppets put in place by the US to 'pose' as a legitimate government. Of that, one can be certain.

So why doesn't BushCo enquire of regular Iraqi people what they want -- instead of telling them?

Because BushCo is already well aware, knowing full well the answer in advance. That's why.

The Iraqis want their occupying, foreign invader, oil thief, oppressors OUT. All of them. Especially, since it's this particular US administration that is (so obviously), 21st century Iraq's problem -- not solution.

Did BushCo find the Iraqi people fighting among themselves upon arrival? And/or find them, even half heartedly, trying to model themselves on Israel?

Like hell they did.
