Blogroll Me! How This Old Brit Sees It ...: GOD HELP US ALL - WATCH THIS AND WEEP ..

GOD HELP US ALL - WATCH THIS AND WEEP ..

I still can't quite believe it -- even though I witnessed it with my own eyes.

I'm ashamed of what I saw.

My blood is still boiling.

My heart is still pounding.

My stomach is still churning.

My palms are still sweaty.

My rage is unrestrained.

I simply can not remember when I last felt so angry.

So fucking, fighting-angry!

Such is the state that I am still in, I can hardly stop shaking as I struggle to type.

So let the BBC's words and pictures of today's shameful spectacle at Blair's New Labour's Brighton conference, speak for themselves.

An 82 year old, ex-refugee from Hitler's Nazi germany was today treated to a taste of what might have been, if he'd remained there all those years ago.

And, what was this frail, old man's crime?

As Jack-the-shit-Straw, prattled on about the illegal Iraq war, he dared to shout 'nonsense'.

So no more of This Old Brit's comments or observations.

See the utter, bully-boy brutality of Blair's New Labour Britain today, for yourself.

But before you do, be warned.

It will disgust you.

It may even drive you to the very depths of despair.

This video footage is a MUST SEE - and hear !!!!!

Watch it and weep.

God help us all.

Great Britain's gone under.

On BBC's Newsnight tonight not only did we have to watch the disgusting treatment of the 82- year old man and the last decent member of the Labour Party who was also evicted for questioning the treatment of the old man. We also had to watch that tub of lard, Jim McCartney make a pathetic excuse for an apology. Even greater cruelty was to be inflicted on the viewing public as we then had to sit through a pathetic attempt to justify this outrageous behaviour by Patricia Hewitt who is now physically metamorphosing into Margaret Thatcher. Politically, Hewitt became a Thatcherite several years ago.
As this point I could contain myself no longer so I went upstairs and had a shit!

Britain certainly won't be Britain without political heckling! It's your most authentic -- and effective -- form of free speech.

Which is all, it seems, the old gent was doing ... and for this he was treated like a besotted football yob?!

Sad to say, but it looks like it could have happened at a "public" rally attended by George W. Bush.

In the U.S., attendees are carefully screened for loyalty and have had to sign "loyalty" oaths to Bush and his cronies. And the odd dissenter is sometimes dealt with brutally. A female heckler was knocked down and kicked during the Republican National Convention in 2004.

Looks like Blair and his boys are borrowing the same tactics.

Time for King Arthur to return from Avalon.

I used to love watching the Prime Minister's questions on CNBC when I still had cable hookup. The British are w-a-y more vocal and upfront - the loyal opposition could be quite opposite!

This is HORRIBLE. Brownshirts across the Atlantic.

Jack Straw is a Jack As*.

I mean C-SPAN, not CNBC, God knows.

Welcome to the new world order where war is peace, dissenting voice is treasonous and blind zombie-like support for fascist governments is patriotic.

I just wish it were me they were escorting out. I would have pissed all over them and shouted simultaneously that new labour are all pricks.

Rick, surely this can be a significant watershed moment for you to get into politics... please!

Here's another must watch video. It's the Blair bum's excuse for an apology - as screened on TV this morning. What a true piece of shit he is.

This is backfiring on Blair, already, Old Brit. It will cost him more than he could ever have imagined.

Here's the latest update on old "Wolfie" -- who's already become an hero.

Three cheers for all our oldies. They've got more balls than most of those years younger than them.

Here's that update link.

Wolfgang highlights deeper disquiet

Analysis
By Nick Assinder
Political correspondent, BBC News Website, in Brighton

Headlines about an 82-year old Jewish escapee from the Nazis being manhandled out of Labour conference for daring to yell "nonsense" at the Foreign Secretary is probably not the way Tony Blair wanted to end this rally.

But, for many regular conference visitors, this was far from a surprise.

Ever-tightening security and a distinctly intolerant attitude towards "interruptions", as the prime minister called them, meant this was a headline waiting to happen.

There have been a few examples of it in the recent past.

Most notably, the prime minister was mid-speech last year when a hunting protester attempted a freestyle heckle only to be instantly grabbed by "burly bouncers" and helped to the exit.

No one who was there will forget the incongruity of the prime minister telling the man he was lucky to live in a free society where such things were allowed - just as he was being bundled out of the hall surrounded by stewards.

The picture of veteran peace campaigner Walter Wolfgang - "Wolfie" as he is now universally known - is far more powerful.

The timing of this latest incident is particularly difficult for the prime minister as it comes as he is already facing opposition allegations of authoritarian tendencies

Tony Blair, Jack Straw, Ian McCartney and just about everybody else in the Labour hierarchy have now apologised to Mr Wolfgang through the media.

Although Mr Blair has no plans to meet him face-to-face.

Are you sure Karl Rove isn't moonlighting at Brighton? More power to 'Wolfie'. How is Tone going to spin this one?

The sight of an 82 y.o. Jewish refugee from Nazi Germany being manhandled by bouncers for peacably protesting turns my stomach.

Now I acknowledge that in any political party an authoritarian streak. But this takes the biscuit.

Do you know who Blair reminds me of? Chamberlain. He's an appeaser - he's spent so long sucking up to the American far right that he's taken on some of their worst characteristics. I suppose it's not surpising, he, Blunkett, Straw, already had their most pernicious characteristic - they look at people as "inputs" and have a complete inability to consider even for a moment the possibility that they may be wrong.

God help us all.

I wonder if the 'Old Brit' has seen the following advert for a recent DVD release. It might explain the behaviour of the stewards.

Eventually, I back to respond.

I spent a lot of yesterday at the hospital - daughter was admitted. Good news is that it's not as serious as first thought - she should be out in a few days.

Anyhow, to get back to business: I may have usedc few words of my own in my original post - but everyone else seems to have said everything else, for me.

There's not a word been posted that I don't entirely agree with.

I just wish I knew what the hell more, people are going to put up before they stand up as one to be counted, and say NO MORE! Enough is enough!

(Thanks for the extra links supplied here while I was AWOL, btw.)

Lots of American comments here?

Anyway- well said old Brit for sounding off. Like a red rag to a bull this was. Lets keep the anger rolling. Blair spun that he had personally apologised. He didn't you know. He apologised above Mr Wolfgang's head- to the media. He doesn't descend to speak to real people in case they bite, or he is assured they have been put through the emasculation machine by Labour Party apparatchiks first.
What with this, and Sylvia Hardy,
and the way elderly people are treated in Brighton General,
and old couples holding hands and committing suicide because they
don't want to be sell their home -
there should be an uprising. More people are joining pressure groups now than political parties -what does that say? They think Old Brits can't bite back, that we are too weak, that we'll pop off before we can create the uprising that destroys Blair.

Welcome, rosie.

I see we're both on the same wavelength. Let's hope enough others are, soon. Before this country of ours slides any further down the slippery slope.

You can certainly count on This Old Brit to 'keep the anger rolling' - that's guaranteed.

Re; lots of American comments. Without bragging too much, I can tell you I have readers [literally] all over the world but the bulk are American.

Ordinary/regular Americans, that is. Those the same as ourselves. Those with principals - raging against those without any - but sadly, those with the power.

BTW, I paid a quick visit to your blog - I will HAVE to go back later, because from what I saw at first glance, it looks well worth the trip.
