The real reason for high gas prices

There you have it. Insecurity about the oil supply brought about by war in Iraq, tension in Iran, and unrest in Africa pushed prices up, but the reason they've continued to spiral out of control is the deregulated market in energy futures. Naturally, John McCain's top economic adviser was the person most responsible for deregulating the market.

It really goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: a vote for John McCain is a vote for more of the same.

Speculation and manipulation of the oil market - Americans ripping off their own people (as well as the rest of the world). It's the biggest single problem with America today. For all their surface bonhomie, Americans live in fear of each other and rip each other off continuously, with no advertising standards legislation, or authority, with any teeth to prevent it. This nation is a free-for-all for snake-oil salesmen, from the upper classes to the lowest. It produces endemic distrust throughout society that is the reason gun control is so vehemently opposed.
