Israel Threatens To Demolish 700 Year Old Mosque Because It Was Built Without A Permit
From the Maan News Agency:
The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein has condemned a decision by Israeli authorities to demolish the Al-Omari mosque in the village of Umm Tuba near Jerusalem under the pretext that the building had been built without a license on Sunday.
Sheikh Hussein told Ma'an that the mosque was built more than 700 years go, and it was last restored in 1963. It is the only mosque in Umm Tuba.
The Mufti claimed that Israeli authorities have been attempting to wipe out historic Islamic sites in Palestine which is violation of all religious values and international treaties.

What is it that Christofacists and Zionazis fear from Islam? After all they must be aware that Islam is the successor to them.
The mind really boggles!!
this sounds like a dark terrible joke for me. Any excuse is good to wreck Palestine and hte Palestinians. Very little is left of Pre-Zionist Palestine. The demolition project started right when Zionists took over the Land.
But, but, but, Mr Gordo you're being critical of Israel. Don't you know that makes you a nazi filth, anti-Semite?
(/snark)
There's something fishy about this story. Just look at the news agencies carrying it. I'd like to see some more independent confirmation.

The story is being carried by outlets throughout the Middle East and Central Asia.
The reason that the Western press has shied away from the story is that the only source of the charge is Sheikh Muhammad Hussein. But he's the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, so if the Israeli government is threatening to destroy an ancient mosque, and if they're using lack of a building permit as a pretext, he would be the one who would know about it.
If the president of the American Historical Association were to say that US officials had threatened to demolish Monticello, you can bet that the story would be on the front page of the New York Times. But because the Grand Mufti's allegation calls the policies of the Israeli government into question, endless confirmation is needed before Western outlets will touch the story. In fact, Hussein's allegations will quite literally have to be confirmed by the Israeli government itself before most American outlets will give this story any credence.
