Gordon Brown And Condi Rice:Absent Afghanistan Allies Angst ...
*
Talk about putting on brave faces, eh?
In case you hadn't heard, today in Downing Street, Condi came calling on Gordon. She came quite quietly too.
Seems they're seeking to set up some sort of shop as a couple of Afghanistan super-recruiters.
Okay, so we've shown you the pictures -- now read the relevant report.

First welcome back:
A little report from down your way Richard:
Bodyguard threatened to shoot man
"A BODYGUARD who works in Iraq threatened to shoot a man in a supermarket.
Anthony Shaw, 38, of Gainsborough Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said he was in Asda when an Asian man caught the defendant's eye.
Shaw told the man: "What do you think you are looking at. I'll put a nine millimetre to your head and your family's and blow your brains out.
"Come outside and I'll kill you."
Protection
When interviewed Shaw, who said he worked in close protection, told police he could not remember what he had said in the shop.
David Charnley, defending, said his client worked in Iraq and was due to start work there again in six weeks.
The defence added: "He has seen some terrible things and says he drinks excessively at times."
He was ordered to pay his victim £150 compensation, fined £300 with £60 costs and told to pay the £15 victims' surcharge by Blackpool magistrates."
I see she flew straight from London to Afghanistan with our Foreign Secretary (David Milliband) but said they weren't going there to try to "show anyone up".
More here at link.
[**Trust you're feeling better with each passing day, Richard.**]
They're wasting their time and others' lives. The Afghans are in Afghanistan to stay as they always have been. They'l simply sit it out and wait for our lots to eventually get fed up and pull out once they realise their fighting a battle the can't win.
It took Russia a while to realise this and in that time they teetered on the brink of bankruptsy ~ in no small way brought about by their ill advised Afghan 'adventure'.
