Surely it has to be one of the saddest stories ever told.
An anguished cancer mum who had only six months to live could not bear to leave her son behind - so she ended his life before taking her own.
Emma Hart, 27, thought she had 16 months left and was "absolutely terrified" when doctors told her she would be dead in half a year

It always troubles me Richard when I read of this senseless taking of a child's life, be it a father or mother for whatever the reason. How totally horrific to snuff out the life of a helpless child. Egotistical. Controlling. Sadistic I would venture. Even more so when there is another caring parent in the picture.
It's hard to know what to say.
If only the mother had sought some counselling, or moral support from somewhere, someone. But "if only" is a useless concept.
I suppose a judge would say it happened "when the balance of her mind was disturbed". So very sad.

That truly is one of the saddest stories, Richard. Heartbreaking, truly heartbreaking. Imagine the absolute turmoil that mother had to have gone through to do such a thing
This story is strange, as all the reports I've read suggest the mother never had cancer at all. Perhaps, if that is the case, her mind was disturbed and she imagined the cancer. Either way, gut-wrenchingly sad for both her and the little boy.
