Is US Setting Up Eastern Europe As Iran Attack Springboard?

It' s not surprising that Scotland's 'Sunday Herald' is an award winning, independent newspaper.
Since so often it's the first in the British Isles to break big stories - in fact, sometimes it's the only one to touch on some ultra touchy subjects.
For example, examine this headline, courtesy of one of our best blogging buddies from across the Atlantic.
Next, examine an extract from the story.
So, read on and see some more.
Or should we say -- old Soviet Bloc?
Now take a look at this little eye opener.

America ‘poised to strike at Iran’s nuclear sites’ from bases in Bulgaria and Romania

Next, examine an extract from the story.
PRESIDENT BUSH is preparing to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities before the end of April and the US Air Force’s new bases in Bulgaria and Romania would be used as back-up in the onslaught, according to an official report from Sofia. An 'official' announcement, eh?
So, read on and see some more.
The American build-up along the BlackSea, coupled with the recent positioning of two US aircraft carrier battle groups off the Straits of Hormuz, appears to indicate president Bush has run out of patience with Tehran’s nuclear misrepresentation and non-compliance with the UN Security Council’s resolution. So much for the United States' new found friends from the new Eastern Europe, eh?
Or should we say -- old Soviet Bloc?
Now take a look at this little eye opener.
In Central Europe, the Czech Republic and Poland have also found themselves in the Pentagon's strategic focus. Thanks to Tom Rushing, here at his 'Current Era' you can put yourself completely in the picture.
Last week, Mirek Topolanek, the Czech prime minister, and the country's national security council agreed to the siting of a US anti-missile radar defence system at Nepolisy.
Poland has also agreed to having a US anti-missile missile base and interceptor aircraft stationed in the country.
Russia, however, does not see the chain of new US bases on its doorstep as a "defensive ring".
Russia's defence chief has branded the planned US anti-missile missile sites on Czech and Polish soil as "an open threat to Russia".

Ah! And my "righty" friends get their feathers ruffled when I liken bush to hitler. Then again, they didn't believe me when I said Iraq had no wmds... I don't think they like truth, do you?
I don't think this is any b/s - this sounds very much like the real deal.
I fear the US administration truly has gone off it's rocker - and sadly the Dems aren't going to change anything for the better.
If I said what I honestly think about this coming Iran war Richard, you would NOT let it past moderation. If anyone thinks the Iraq mess is bad -- they ain't seen nothing yet. I mean it.
The gates of hell will well and truly be opened.
I agree about the gates of hell
And how will anyone be able to close them once they are opened?
They're too dumb to care.
Russia says the US stuff is an 'open threat' to it? Jesus H. Can't the US take a HINT!
That's it bootlian. I think this subject, (or something close) came out last July at this blog site.
The rationale at the time was that we somehow extrapolated the Gaza and later Lebanon atrocities as something which will continue to Siria and will culminate in Iran.
Do we remember, (back in the second half of 2003,) when after the first few months of seemingly easy invasion of Iraq, the controlled media was full of stories, that it is going to be Siria and Iran's turn for régime change, and be a 'Democracy' which America -and Israel- approve of? (A plutocratic, oligarchic 'Democracy' I suppose.)
Instead, the emerging Iraqi Resistance has the effect, which has made it impossible to the new warlords of Iraq to enjoy their new possesion, or use it as a secure base for branching out, and instead they started to resemble more and more an occupation régime under siege, locking themselves up in their re-inforced 'enduring bases' and fortresses surrounded by the sizzling hate and loathing of the local population, just like the Crusader Knights of the Holy Land in an earlier period.
The blabber winded down, but only for a while.
Anyone remembers when Scott Ritter predicted that Iran will be attacked in June 2005? I think Seymour Hirsh had an important article later on about it, saying that the Pentagon was split, with opinions of doubts.
I'm just an ordinary person, -like everyone else- with no extra sources of information, but it's relatively easy to see, that the inclination is there to attack Iran for a long time, specialy from Israel, -who for all practical purposes- the senior partner in the US/UK/Israel alliance, but something has always brought back sanity to the warlords' heads.
Now obviously there are no garantees, and the assemblage of those carriers is an ominous sign and so is the 'surge'. What about if the extra troops in Iraq are not there to wrestle victory from the Resistance, (which is a ridiculous idea anyway), but for additional operational purposes?
On the other hand -so far- someone, or something has always pulled back these forces to strike Iran. (And I can write another article of similar length to speculate which are those probable considerations, but I rather exercise mercy toward the reader.)
So I'll try to keep my calm the best I could, and pray for Peace.
