Bread And Circuses And Have A Nice Day ...

Since This Old Brit isn't so hot today - like millions more elsewhere - this Sunday's serving is short and sweet.

Still, the sentiment's simple to see.

BREAD

Have a nice day.

A point well made - and taken. Thank you.

And I hope you soon feel better.

Maybe now Americans will pay a bit more attention to what BushCo is bringing on them. All the neocon's fear mongering suddenly looks like it could become one of those self fullfilling phrophesies.

Thank goodness Western (or 'old') Europe is well out of range - and anyway it's not us that Korea's got it in for.

Yawn. Spam's a slight pain in the arse but I'm sure it's easily recognised by almost everyone for exactly what it is.

I'm also sure that nobody ever clicks on any of the stupid spammer's stupid links. You'd think they would have figured that out by now. And that all they're really doing is giving me extra hits, right here.

In case anyone hadn't realised, that's the cause of there being more recent comment deletions than usual.

Oh don't worry about it Richard. Anyone dimwitted enough to think spamming pays (in any way at all) ain't worth worrying about, Richard. I know it doesn't bother me as a reader here, and I bet it has no effect on anyone else reading here either.

Sad? Stupid? Yup. I'd say both terms apply to spammers.

Talk about double standards. Folk are so "OUTRAGED" about a bomb being TESTED by Korea.

Pity there's not more outrage about all the US and UK and Israeli ones that are [and have been for a long time] being used for real - and obliterating men, women and kids, on a regular basis.

Maybe so many folk want to watch constant trash on telly because that's their cowardly way of 'hiding' from their own consciences. Consciense is like Karma though - it always catches with you.

I forgot to say - I hope you're feeling better.

What Whoever Said said on bothe counts, Richard.

I also agree with Rex and Bootlian re spam. But it is nice to see it removed, though.

Threats to Iran unacceptable: Russia foreign ministry
China and Russia concur

"MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia and China agree that using or threatening force against Iran is unacceptable and presenting Tehran with ultimatums is counter-productive, Interfax news agency quoted a Russian Deputy Foreign Minister as saying.

"The positions of our two countries coincides that the use of force or the threat to use force is absolutely unacceptable," the agency quoted Alexander Alexeyev as saying on Friday when asked about Russian and Chinese policy on Iran.

"Talking to them (Tehran) in the language of ultimatums and attempts to force them into a corner are counter-productive," Interfax quoted him as saying."

This lengthy article The Emerging Russian Giant Plays its Cards Strategically
by F. William Engdahl

from Global Research is well worth the read.

It might be worth putting GlobalResearch on your blogroll, Richard.
They're the best on the net at the moment on this coming war that I have come across.

I hope things are looking up for you.

Griffon--

Thanks for the links. Well worth the read.

Old Brit--

Cheneyco is pretty good at the circus part. If only they'd hand out a little bread to the people who need it, I'd be inclined to wait until 2008, instead of calling for their impeachment right now.

No worries, Gordo. In fact, here's another one

The conclusion to the article:-

"This administration has painted itself into a corner. It is in a loose-loose situation. The only difference is that if it attacks Iran, US ensures that at least lots of other countries will suffer as well. The attack, tactics, strategies and consequences take too much space to mention here. So I leave that part for the next article; for now, let it suffice to say that if US attacks Iran, we all have to get used to riding bicycles. The future doesn’t look bright at all. It seems that this administration is bent on destroying anything that it can not control; and by doing this, it is losing all controls."
