McCain Loses His Honor

Voters in swing states are receiving robocalls which allege that Barack Obama "worked closely with" '60s radical William Ayers. The charge is untrue (Ayers and Obama were both on the board of a charity in Chicago, but had little contact), but dishonesty is common in negative robocall campaigns. What makes this campaign noteworthy is the fact that it's being conducted by a company called FLS-Connect. The Republican National Committee has paid FLS $8 million this election cycle.

The connection between the McCain campaign and FLS is ironic, given the firm's history:

FLS-Connect was linked to the pro-Bush robocalls in the 2000 South Carolina GOP primary that helped sink John McCain. The charges included that "Mr. McCain's current wife, Cindy, was a drug addict and that the couple's daughter Bridget, adopted from Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh, was a black child Mr. McCain had fathered out of wedlock," the New York Times reported.

So now McCain is employing the same firm that smeared him, his wife, and his daughter. I can't begin to describe the level of disgust I feel for John McCain right now.
