Blogroll Me! How This Old Brit Sees It ...: Boston Legal Bites Bush-Ass --- Big Time

Boston Legal Bites Bush-Ass --- Big Time

Well, we wouldn't have believed it our bloomin' selves before now, but both This Old Brit and Richard are -- for the first time ever -- begging you to watch a bit more telly, instead of a lot less. Temporarily, naturally.

Since for once, somebody seems to have sussed that standing up and saying publicly (to several million souls, simultaneously), what so many of the more worldly wise among us have always advocated, is something well worth doing. A type of televisual variation on the old 'Publish and be damned' theme, one might say.

All of which brings we two twittering old bloggers - eventually - to the point.

There's a fantastic five minute video clip from the well known & widely watched American TV series 'Boston Legal' now available on ye olde, worlde-wide-webe. (Aawrh, ain't poetic license absolutely awesome?)

But back to business. Boy, does Boston Legal bite Bush-ass. And how.

So, swiftly sidle along to see what Tom Rushing 'heads upped' us to, at his first class 'Current Era' blog.

Then, once there, simply mouse-slap the on-screen arrow: what you'll see on screen and soon hear said, should be music to your ears.

Enjoy. Savour every single syllable. We wouldn't want anyone to miss a word -- since this super script was written specially -- for all of us.

In a word? Awesome! That needs spreading far and wide. I'm starting now.

Thanks.

There is hope for all of us yet. This is another great find, I will distribute this too... We must resist becoming anti-American, but we continue to must resist American foreign policy, for as long as it makes the West a bully to others. What is happening over in Iraq and other places in the world, is happening over here. It's not about Peoples, it's about people... Thanks.

Speading far & wide? It should be shown in US schools - compulsary!!

gert,

so true. The fact that this is actually a US series must give millions of decent Americans [and others elsewhere] some hope that the rumblings against all this, are growing ever louder. And that can only be for the better.

axel,

If only, eh?

Those scriptwriters should get all the emmies, oscars, whatever that are on offer. But they won't of course - more's the pity.

Also, it will be worthwhile watching what spitefull actions are taken by the adsminitrsation against any and all involved in that prgramme. Bushco are a vengefull lot with very long memories.

Hi, Phyl.

You're welcome. It's my pleasure. Didn't you just love it?

It made me wonder how long it would be before the writers, or that actor, had an unfortunate accident on a small plane. :-(

But just think of the almost brain-dead wingnut TV junkies who were undoubtedly watching it. Maybe for a very few, the actual importance of the words got through.

It's an amazing clip alright, I had heard it on a radio show, but didn't register where it was from at the time.

Perhaps I'm a wingnut brit ex-pat TV Junky, but Boston legal has been on my TiVo for 2 seasons. The Alan Shaw character you see in this clip has had many memorable speeches, The anti-death sentence plea He made in Texas was an anti-Bush eye opener too... The plea failed

Thanks for this good find, Richard.

Since I don't watch TV, I had no idea such a scene could take place on a popular mainstream show.

A word of warning (and I don't easily resort to this): a blogger by the nom de plume of "Why Palestinians Usually Get It Wrong" (a new "blog") is launching comment spam attacks left right and center, including on mine. He's been posting over 20 comments/hour. He may also come here, not sure, via the links on my comment section.

Some people, honestly...

Gert & Tom,

So far so good, here. A thought struck me that maybe there's a target/trigger in words used in blog post 'titles'.

I won't use the name, but I note you've used a country & nationality name in several recent posts, Gert. Maybe Tom can recall if he'd done something similar just before he was hit. Over to you, Tom?

Jultra, anon & Rosemary,

I found it both surprising and heartening. Who knows? Maybe the worm[s] really are turning.

Incidentally anon, so his anti death penalty plea failed - in Texas, eh?

Obviously the writers are way too good to allow their credibility to suffer, due to story lines that are much too far fetched. ;^]

Richard:

The country name and nationality you allude to are definitely what triggers this guy, but there's nothing I can or want to do about this.

If it persists I will lodge a complaint with Blogger. In my case he started up, then paused, then relaunched this afternoon... He's extremely disiginious, having accused several of his targets of spamming him!

What do people think they are achieving with this, other than giving "their cause" a bad name?

enigma, You're welcome, it's my pleasure - as ever.

Gert, Whoever it is must have too much time on their hands and more things on their mind than they know how to handle - if that's the labour intensive way they choose to 'communicate'. Thanks goodness for blogger's 'bin- button' facility, eh?

It would be even better if Blogger would allow blacklists of nuissance blog spammers.

Yesterday I must have deleted some 50+ comments from this guy: he was putting more of them up as I was deleting them, I mean at the same time!

Things seem to have quitened down now, touch wood, I think he's had enough now: other bloggers spammed by him started spamming back: he's now had to enable comment moderation to protect himself from revenge nuissance comments.

Never seen anything like it in my 3 years of blogging...

Gert,

I think that would be a good idea for blogger take up - but then I think that all they're really interested in, is HITS of any kind.

Tom,

That's good to hear. I'll pass on the info to Rosemary in particular [in case she misses your message]as I know she particularly wanted to watch that one.
